Community Resilience Fund 2022

Help us to make decisions about where money is spent in your community

We are looking for citizens to join a group that will help decide where money goes as part of the Community Resilience Fund. The fund is a one-off grant of £4 million that is available to organisations working in the most deprived areas of Bristol, and also to city-wide community groups.

The Fund aims to help community and voluntary organisations increase their resilience and sustainability during these challenging times. Community projects are particularly valuable right now as many are having to work harder than ever before and experiencing increased demand from people needing support. It is important that residents play a central role in deciding which projects and community organisations receive the grants so they can continue to do the vital work they do. To be part of the decision-making panel, you will need to either:

  • Be a Bristol resident, who lives, works or takes part in community activities, in one of the eligible areas of the city, or
  • Work for an organisation that specialises in support to people with protected characteristics, such as Disabled people, LGBTQ+ communities, or racially marginalised communities

You would also need to be over 16 years old and willing to dedicate between eight to 15 hours to help between November 2022 and January 2023. To find out more and to register your interest in this opportunity visit Community Resilience Fund (bristol.gov.uk).

The deadline for applications to join the residents’ panel is Thursday 3 November 2022.

What is the Community Resilience Fund?

The Community Resilience Fund (CRF) is a one-off capital grant fund of £4 million to support community and voluntary sector organisations (VCSE) based in and working with the most deprived areas of the city. Support will also be available for city-wide equality groups.

To learn about what the grants can be used for, eligibility and how to submit a proposal visit the Community Resilience Fund page on the Bristol City Council website.

We are a contract partner for Bristol City Council and our role is to advise community organisations in our neighbourhood on the process of applying. To find out about eligibility boundaries and whether your project idea is located within the area we are supporting, please visit the Community Resilience Fund Eligibility Map.

As a VCSE lead organisation if your proposed project is within our specified area of Bristol, we are able to offer support and comment on your proposal. We can give guidance on:

  • what your outline project proposal should look like
  • how to make sure you’re eligible before spending time on it

Contact us to find out if your project is eligible by emailing: Goska@stwerburghs.org.uk

There will be two information sessions in September for potential applicants to ask questions. Please contact us for more details:

15th September 10am – 12pm
22nd September 2pm – 4pm

The deadline to apply for the CRF is Monday 3rd October 2022.
