Inspiring Women Talk: Sonah Paton (Black Mothers Matter)

Join Bristol Women’s Voice for the next Inspiring Women Talk with the fantastic Sonah Paton from Black Mothers Matter!

Come along and find out more about important work of Black Mothers Matter and how they support Black and Mixed Black women and birthers to deliver safely. Childcare available if booked by Monday 24th June.

Sonah is a mother to three. Her varying maternity experiences led her to train as a Doula and co-found Black Mothers Matter. Sonah recently became a member of NHS England’s Maternity and Neonatal Stakeholder Council and is a TEDx speaker.

Black Mothers Matter exist to support and celebrate Black pregnancies at a time where there are huge racial disparities in maternal and neonatal deaths, outcomes and experiences.

Black Mothers Matter is a small but mighty team of Black women working with Black and Mixed Black women and birthers to deliver safe, relevant support and information.

Black Mothers Matter also work with healthcare professionals say they are more confident and competent and better able to support all types of Black families.

By coming to this event you will:

  • Find out more about Black Mothers Matter and the work they do to support Black and Mixed Black women and birthers to deliver safely
  • Have the opportunity to connect with other women in Bristol with shared interests
  • Have a Q&A with Sonah at the end.

Free refreshments will be provided at this event. There will also be free play support for your child/ren available – please indicate this as you get your ticket.
