Bristol One City Cost of Living Response

We are recruiting for community-focused Volunteers to help our visitors feel welcome in our friendly, warm and safe space.

This is a valuable opportunity to be part of our vibrant Community Centre, while connecting with like-minded people, uplifting others and gaining rewarding experiences.

The role activities include:

  • Making friendly conversation
  • Helping residents get involved with an activity
  • Meeting and greeting visitors
  • Checking in on residents using the space
  • Signposting residents to groups and services
  • Support open access computer users by helping to sign up, log in and assist with enquiries, for example help to understand and respond to emails / letters / bills
  • Helping users with photocopying and printing

Flexible hours, to be agreed. Suggested minimum: 3 hours weekly for 3 to 6 months.

Festive Friends Volunteers

Volunteer for St Werburghs Community Centre at our Festive Friends events.

Twice a year we host Festive Friends events for over 50s in our local community. Our Christmas event will be held on Friday 15th December 2023.

We will need help with setting up, serving food and drink, being available to chat and have fun with the attendees, and setting down. The shifts will operate has half days (4hrs each).

Event Volunteers

Come and help us with our community events.

We will need a team of enthusiastic volunteers to make it the best event it can be! If you can spare 2-3 hours, there are a variety of roles and shifts available. We are looking for volunteers to:

Be on our info desk and volunteer and guest sign-in desk
Meet and greet people as they arrive
Supervise specific areas and activities
Help with clearing up the event
Assist with setting up or take down

The Christmas Market – 24th November

Festive friends meal for our community elders – 15th December

Open Community Day – Summer

Picnic in the Park – September

St Werburghs Community Centre is looking for a reliable volunteer to support the Raking and Baking project coordinator on this key cooking and gardening project.

Hours: 6 hours on a Thursday

Stay & Play Coordinator

St Werburghs Community Centre is currently looking for a reliable Stay & Play Volunteer to run a parent and toddler play group one morning a week at our Centre. The role includes setting up the sessions and helping to maintain and organise the toys and equipment. We would ideally like the space to be open to families with SEND children but if this is not your specialism then do not be put off as we welcome all applicants. Hours: 3.5 hours a week
